Im too anxious to attend social or work events.7 Confidence Suggestions with Maree @LYF 4U
With the extra social events coming up, this can be a trigger for many.I can relate.
When asked to present at gatherings I would find my stomach cramping and would white-knuckle the steering wheel on my way there.
Hello and always welcome to this complimentary community motivation.
WHAT IT FEELS LIKE TO BE LOW IN CONFIDENCE
As an introvert or socially shy person, I used to worry about going to events or gatherings—from professional to personal—anytime I was invited or needed to attend; I used immediately start to worry.
Certainly many of my clients carry that same mindset when they first come for coaching.
What if no one talks to me.
What if I do something stupid?
I'm not good enough.
What if i get stuck there.
How do I make small talk after the weather and other safe and dull topics?
FACTS
Anxious worry was wasteful, and not helpful; and the thing is there is enough trouble or things to worry about in our world—more than enough for you or me to handle in one day—so we don't need to take on or borrow worries.
REFLECTIONS
Also I remembered that both myself and you are invited...invited to be a worthy part of this world. That we are all so unique that there is no one to compare with. That loving to share what we have all learnt with others is our privilege and gift.

7 TIPS ON HOW TO BOOST CONFIDENCE SOCIALLY
1. The way to be present is to be in this moment—not to borrow tomorrow's or yesterday's worry about what could happen but to be here now; it's to share what each other does. Then it's easy to ask the person in front of you a question. (Most people enjoy talking about themselves more than listening.)
2. Add your name later in the conversation; it is better remembered that way.
3. Become a great listener, full of curiosity, and connections.
4. Smile and hold eye contact. Use those around you to practise if you need to.
5 Be present, no checking of your cell phones.
.6. Ask 3 YES questions in a row. When you ask 3 generic yes questions in a row, the person you are meeting for the first time will subconsciously think, "This person is agreeable to me, we get along...."
7. Visualize yourself interacting easily, smiling, relaxing and yes enjoying yourself...
Events, whether social or professional are an expansion of knowledge, networking, and valued fresh relationships that would never have been otherwise known.
Lastly I have met so many lovely peole i know i would not have had i allowed my old self to win..you are so much more than your mind would have you believe...
