The Troble with Self Sabotage is......

Often in your life you want so much, that something you yearn for  but then something gets in your way and it never seems to happen for you. It's like that option just goes dark in you.

The odds are unconsciously it is you.

You react..

Yes- Let's take a look at that.


What is self sabotage? 

MAREES WEEKLY WORD. SABOTAGE;

Sabotage is simply when you engage in actions or thinking (consciously or unconsciously) in ways that defeat what you were asking for, that prevent the outcome you wanted, thus leaving you feeling more unhappy or deflated with yourself and life.


Whatever your  goals, sometimes we end up making choices or acting in a way that undermines what you really want — this can lead to you sabotaging yourself and your progress. Even with the best of intentions, we often allow this habit to creep in and prevent us from ​seeking that light to reaching our goals.

An example, maybe you really want to lose weight, but keep falling off the wagon when it comes to junk food or exercise.

Or maybe you want to be more loving with your spouse, but continue to be critical or nit-picky.


The Trouble With Self-Sabotage

Perhaps the worst thing about self-sabotage is that as mentioned, we don’t usually realize we’re doing it. If we did realize it, we’d probably stop it right? 

So Why is it so hard to take a look in the mirror and see what we might be doing to frustrate our own progress?

 Maybe you’ve been subconsciously “trained” to do so, often from your first family( the family you grew up with) Or perhaps you feel it's  other people who sabotage you, so you’ve formed a habit of doing it to yourself.


 Maybe it's what is known as Trapped Emotions that play a role in the doubts and fears that undermine your success. Like you want to succeed but if it truly happened, would you feel safe, or able to.. 

It is important to recognize and accept that this is happening. Denial is a cul de sac on your mind street to self growth.

Here are a few easy tips on how to Be Kind to Yourself & Stop Sabotaging Yourself


Chances are, you believe in showing grace to others and giving them the benefit of the doubt. Now be sure to all extend that same attitude to yourself too. 


  • Learn from your failures, we are all students

  • Celebrate small wins, some days it may be something like getting through the day without nitpicking, or a healthy day.

  • Resolve feelings that cause procrastination- this can require professional guidance.

  • Reframe yourself of constant  negative energy

  • Note your accomplishments, at the end of each day, then self praise...validation is fuel.. :) 

  • Remember that you are not alone.. we all walk this life- and that I'm walking with you all the way ..there always a way forward x
